Adjustment days

And then comes the exciting moment when you take your child(ren) to daycare for the first time. Perhaps it is reassuring that parents are often more affected by it than the children themselves. And fortunately there is an adjustment period and we do everything we can to make your child feel at home.

Your child can come and get used to it for two half days at our expense. Four weeks before the daycare starts, you will be contacted by telephone to schedule these recovery days.

To allow your child and yourself to become familiar with our daycare center, we have adjustment moments that precede the final placement date. The purpose of these adjustment moments is, among other things:

  • That your child becomes familiar with the daycare center: the daily rhythm, the pedagogical staff, the group members;
  • That the parent(s)/guardian(s) become familiar with the new situation and can develop a relationship of trust with the pedagogical staff
  • That matters such as nutritional schedules and sleep rituals are coordinated as best as possible.

The pedagogical worker plays an important role in the child's adjustment. A toddler or toddler is playfully introduced to the space and the rules. The group members often unintentionally play an important role in this. Attention is given in the form of physical contact, looking around the group and getting to know other children, or not if the child is a bit anxious. Attention also means supporting the child in finding its own place in the group. The child must feel welcome.
